October 31th, Halloween night is said to be, in legends and folklore, the best time to engage into the occult, for such activities as summoning up spirits of the dead and to perform divination. Witch covens consider Halloween night as the most opportune time for the casting of spells and shamans as an ideal time for the creation of amulets, talismans, and good luck charms. For thousands of years, people have believed that the night of October 31th unleashes magical forces that can be tapped into and that otherworldly spirits; ghosts enter into our material world. Centuries ago, even with the threat of arrest and imprisonment by the legal authorities, witches performed alleged magical ceremonies in abandon buildings or deep within a vast forest on a Halloween night clandestinely; trying not to be seen nor heard by the rest of the population.
There are witches, female and male, the male are usually called “warlocks” currently that today put on public displays for their allegedly magical rites that get a certain amount of mass media attention; publicity. There are no longer laws against witchcraft sessions in the United States of America, Canada, and Europe so witches and warlocks can operate freely to a large; reasonable extent. And witches and warlocks are very active on Halloween, most especially Halloween night. People participate on seances on the last day of October in the night, trying to contact the spirits of their deceased family members and good friends with the belief that the special night has magical influences. In England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland; various centuries old castles that have reputation for being haunted, are especially investigated by curious people looking for ghosts; spirits and related mysterious paranormal phenomenon on a Halloween night.
In some cases, centuries ago, wizards and sorcerers went on special nights, Halloween night included, to quiet, lonely(so to speak) roads; roads that normally had no travelers late at night; the type of roads where one road was horizontal and another road that was vertical, to the area of intersection, occultists did their rituals for magical results. The roads formed in shape, a giant cross, and the cross is a sacred symbol referring to Jesus Christ who was put up on a cross, suffered, died, was buried, but rose again from the dead. People believed the intersection area radiates mystical blessings and holy powers, especially on a Halloween night.
Witches can have black magic rituals on Halloween night cursing people; hexing people and will burn black candles. Occultists do various prayer rituals on October 31th, at times these rituals involve the lighting of candles and the burning of pleasant smelling incense. White candles represent purity and innocence. Yellow candles represent the sun and enlightenment. Blue candles represent the blue sky and a sense of calmness. Some of these rituals are prayers to God to have a rather tolerable winter; the yellow candles symbolize the power of the sun by its light and warmth. When clouds begin to shrink, the sky is quite blue; if there are no clouds; the sky is completely blue. Farmers and agriculturists especially pray for a not very bad winter. In regards to divination, crystal scrying; staring into a crystal ball in the dark to try to see the future is popular on a Halloween night, and looking at Taro cards, randomly selected, in a well light room, during nocturnal Halloween is also popular.
On the final October night, there is a clear; bright full moon in the sky; occultists believe the moon will lend its cosmic forces to the magical influences already being unleashed. There are Christians and Jews who believe Satan: The Devil and his demons are extra active on Halloween night and for people to be more careful not to submit to wrong temptation and seek protection against harm by the power of God.

“From ghoulies and ghosties and long leggedy beasties and things that go bump in the night, Good LORD, deliver us”. – Traditional Scottish poem. A general prayer for protection of God during the night is as follows:

The Jews, since ancient times, for protection against enemies, have recited various prayers; sometimes those prayers were the psalms, spoken either in part or in full. Psalm 59 is a good example of such a psalm. King Saul of Israel, wrote the psalm. The first two lines of this psalm, read as follows:
1. Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God; defend me from them that rise up against me.” 2. “Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.”
Sometimes the ancient Jews had a few verses of scriptural prayer writings inscribed on heavy ink on thick cloth or inscribed on metal to be worn or carried to act as a protection talisman or a good luck charm. For protection against evil, especially during the astral effects of All Hallows Eve(Evening), there are religious people who prayed to the four most powerful archangels, who names are “Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, and Uriel”. Some people even believed that on a Halloween night, because of all the “magic”, that even the angels and archangels are a little closer to us from the astral realm to our physical realm.There are Christians who ask for blessings and protection against harm from God, angels, archangels, Virgin Mary; Holy Mother of God, but they also ask these favors in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God of the Heavenly Father.
